Nope, not buying it. They were training him kind of, but secretly, so he could become a ninja, but did not give any hint, that he will be one (besides a ninja girl following him). And then they decide to suddenly drop the charade after someone tries to kill him... As if they were waiting for this to happen... Something does not add up here. But even then, what's the point of training the girl (secretly from the guy even when they are childhood friends?) specifically for ninja stuff, but not him? When he is supposed to lead the house? My head hurts from lack of logic.
