Stick to manga. First episode felt good, but then animation and pacing went to spiral. Don't get me wrong, the manga itself is also not that good in terms of the story, and them cutting some things out did not really detract anything. But this is supposed to be highly visual and highly creepy experience, and it's not. There are some somewhat uncomfortable scenes here, yes, but because of poor animation they do not feel as creepy as they probably should. I am also not sure if the ending is the same as in manga, I think manga ended differently, but I could be misremembering things. The art style is probably the only good thing here, but for that... Read the manga. That's the whole point of it, after all.
