I think it's underrated. Don't get me wrong it still should not be more than 7/10 I think, since it has some plot holes and lose threads, but overall a goo movie.
When I saw that there is a 4K version of it, I just had to rewatch it, even though I rarely rewatch anything. I was afraid that I may be misremembering it due to nostalgia glasses, but - no. It still good. Closer to B-Movies, of course, but story is ok, actors are ok, everything is ok. Its dynamics are sometimes uneven, some themes are underdeveloped, but I do not think it's trying to be ground-breaking or mind-stimulating or anything like that. It tries to be a "horror"-like movie and a teenagers' movie and it succeeds at that.
