Episode 7:
This is a 3rd episode, I essentially fast-forward. The show is a bit strange. It shows some BTS of idols' work and it tries to show background of the idols themselves, and those backgrounds a not that bad thought out, but somehow... I am still unable to fully invest myself into it.
I can't help but compare it to original Idolmaster anime, which was the only other idol shown, that I got into and really liked. Somehow it feels as if that show was better on both BTS and backgrounds. It also had some "darker" episodes, and episodes focused on some (if not all) members to an extent, but it was done more elegantly, I guess?
22/7 in this regard seems a bit forced. I get it, that there is this wall, that just decided, that all the girls selected are just amazing and thus need to be pushed [around]. But the pacing of it all could be ok, if this was a magic show. Being an idol IS work, this show does not deliver that feeling, unlike Idolmaster. It is good at describing the characters, but it does so, essentially out of the main flow and using a lot of cuts, making the flow even worse and the story seems even more forced.
It is hard for me to do, but I will be dropping it after all. It had so much potential, but still is unable to actually grab me by the feels. Even that Zombie Idols show was better: at least it was consistent (and had zombie rap).
