An Au Ra hailing from one of the oldest clans from 風谷, or Kazetani, a rather well populated region for her people. Lumina's bloodline is one of the oldest and once richest clans in the Valley, her grandfather being the current surviving head of the family.

Sadly, not all is well. With her grandfather falling terminally ill, responsibilities soon fell to her shoulders and it became known that although they still keep up airs about their power and wealth, her family has been drowning in debt for quite some time. Determined to save her family from collapsing, she sheds her traditional Au Ra name 和美白竜 (Kazumi Hakuryu) and takes up a name that a Hyur would wear, one that speaks to her past and her pride and makes for Eorzea with head held high.

There she meets a rather silent man named Eider Hoarfrost, who she hires as a bodyguard whom she leads on under the premise of riches without letting on just how broke she really is. Still, she wonders why he stays by her without ever seeing a gil...

Lumina is proud, stubborn, demanding, and still acts like the wealthy lady she was brought up to be despite her family's hardships. She's also unbelievably greedy, willing to take on just about any task handed to her, although she'll leave most of the dirty jobs to Eider.

Lumina has been blind in one eye since birth, leaving her rather accident prone and lacking a lot of depth perception. She relies on summons, minions and her companion mounts to assist her when it comes to awareness of her surrounding.
