Before there was the land known as Middle-Earth, there was Eorzea. A young wanderer came from far away lands. He was known by many as Mithrandir (Grey Wanderer) due to the grey streaks in his hair. In his early days, he was brash and arrogant. He challenged opponents far beyond his capabilities and one day faced a really tough enemy that almost killed him. Although he managed to defeat this foe in the end, he got a deep scar across his face that have always reminded him of his younger, reckless days.
As the incarnation of the Lord of Fire, his right eye sparkled with a fiery red color. To hide this fact from others, he grew his hair and covered his right eye from view. He is skilled with sword and shield, as well as staff and spell. Later, he will master the skills of fighting with both sword and staff in his hand, becoming both a master swordsman and a master conjurer.
Born in the desert city of Ul'dah, he finally called the port of Limsa Lominsa home and joined the Maelstrom grand company for more daring adventures with other gallant heroes. A swashbuckler and traveller by nature, he felt that this grand company is the one that suited him the most.
A year after the battle with Ultima Weapon in the Praetorium which made him a legend among the people of Eorzea, he changed his outgrown hairstyle during an expedition to the Crystal Tower and finally revealed his right red eye, which is now known by the people of Eorza as the Eye of Allag, a symbol of royal blood in the long gone Allagan Empire.
