About me and FFXIV:

I started in May of 2015 with the Heavensward early access trial version. I started on Faerie as a female Au Ra. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the subscription and went on hiatus for a while. Eventually, after a job change, I was able to start my paid subscription and currently have no plans to stop until the game comes to a close.

The name Yui Tenshi was actually a thought out name that I picked for my character. I needed a family name for my main character and alts, so I went with Tenshi as a generic family name; it also fits the Warrior of Light theme since angels are somewhat considered as Light attribute beings. As for the name Yui, I wanted the character to represent the bonds that she makes in her journey, both with NPCs and other real players in-game, and so the name Yui was a simple yet perfect fit for how I wanted her to grow. Yui's been on Faerie from 2015-2023. She moved to Seraph during 2023, as sort of a retirement type move, since I won't be playing the game as frequently anymore.

FFXIV is my second MMO after WOW, but I really liked the Final Fantasy series and the more realistic character looks from FFXIV. At first I was skeptical of this MMO, because the original release was awful to play. So when A Realm Reborn got released, I was like "Nope! It's going to be the same crap!" But then Heavensward came out, which made me realize it must be better now since they actually dropped a new patch and game reviews have improved. It's because of this change that I started during the Heavensward patch (technical re-started, but I didn't keep my old FFXIV account).

I'm not much of a hard-core gamer due to my work schedule, but I do try to play all day whenever I'm off work. I generally play the game for fun and to forget about work. If I'm not working or online, I'm usually out dining/traveling. I like snowboarding, I can sing and play the piano, and I like to draw, though I'm a little rusty since I haven't drawn much in years. I used to play soccer a lot but nowadays I just play pickup from time-to-time.
