Toiling under the blistering desert sun and subject to the pervasive winds, a lone couple lovingly carried their newborn child over dunes and ocean, to far distant lands, in an attempt to evade the repercussions of a trade deal gone sour. Years later, the child, now a proper adult, returned to her childhood home in search of a heritage and family name abandoned.

Upon arrival in Ul'dah, she took an initial interest in non-violent professions. Beginning with textiles and gradually familiarized herself with all the disciplines. Her unquenchable curiosity and drive to understand led to significant advancement in every guild.

At about the same time, Calypso was excited to see the world. She ventured far and wide across the three major kingdoms, as well as the cliffs of Ishgard. While wandering she began observing the foliage, rock formations and abundant sea life. Working with the corresponding guilds, she became well versed in these gathering professions as well.

For many months her adventures were peaceful. One night, she woke up from a restless sleep, a vivid image of the nightmare burned in her memory. In this dream, a dark, faceless evil was approaching the land, destroying everything in its path. She was caught in fear, unable to defend herself. The next day she traveled to Gridania to begin her training in the art of the bow, for self-preservation and to protect the land and people she had grown to embrace.

Her martial prowess expanded to encompass the full range of known weapons. Ultimately she stayed true to her first mark; the bow. Working together with other adventurers, she battled the Primals and the growing Garlean threats. Joining the efforts of the Maelstrom Grand Company, she distinguished herself in multiple critical missions. At the Battle of Cartenau, she stood strong in the heat of enemy fire. However, when Bahamut released his fiery devastation on the continent, the area where she had helped lead her compatriots was reduced to a smoky crater.

After five long years, she mysteriously awoke near Limsa Lominsa. Though name and face may have been forgotten, Calypso finds herself alluded to in song and tale as one of the Warriors of Light of the 6th Astral Era.

Returning to the always eventful life of adventurer, she is focused on putting together the shattered memories and cataclysmic events of the last five years...
