Orphaned while still very young, Ali found herself a home among the Miqo'te of Southern Thanalan, where she learned basic fighting techniques to be able to hunt and survive. But the harsh conditions of the desert eventually wore her down d she began to plot a possible course to make her own path. One day, when she figured she would not be missed, she slipped out with little more than a basic hunting knife, a spellcaster's branch and traditional Miqo'te garb and decided to make for Ul'dah.

While cities and large crowds made her uncomfortable, she needed contacts and information. It was during that journey that Hydaelyn interrupted her life and that was a pattern that would be repeated far more than she would like.

In recent times, Ali (her given name), sees herself as a sort of "Warrior Mage", combining swordplay with spellcraft. But being imposed upon time and time again, lurching from crisis to crisis and having almost no control over her life has led to the girl becoming more angry and aggressive, with few friends truly trying to understand her.

She takes solace in escaping for breaks, usually accompanied by a dragonet she befriended in Dravania and learning new skills. Beyond that, all she wants to do is be free. Which seems too much to ask.
