Solveig, proud daughter of Clan Madrigal hails from deep in Abalathia’s Spine. As with all Hellsguard, her clan has stood vigilant over the Ashen Pillars since the time of the Fifth Astral Era. Roegadyn legend says that these slumbering volcanoes will one day awaken, opening up yawing portals to the daemon infested lands of Tormgaunt, the Blighted Circle. Long ago, the Goddess Halone tasked Clan Madrigal with guarding the Worm Flows, a treacherous basalt flow on the Ashen Pillars east flank and it was there that Solveig spent most of her childhood.

On her 16th birthday, Solveig passed the trials of warrior and entered adulthood. She joined the Peak Guard in protecting the Clan from external threats and for a time she was happy. This changed, however, when a sense of wanderlust stole upon her. She grew restless with the confines of her Clan’s home range and began to vocalize her frustrations. The elders of the Clan met to discuss the young Roegadyn’s outbursts and agreed upon a customary, if seldom practiced course of action.

The elders charged Solveig with a pilgrimage of Halone. She was to set forth to the South and make her way to the City-State of Gridania, helping everyone she met. She was to continue travelling at the behest of the Goddess until the Fury herself made it known that her journey was at its end. Delighted by this turn of events, Solveig quickly packed her few belongings and was on the road at next light.
Upon the road to Gridania she would encounter an unfathomable destiny.

Solveig’s weapon of choice is her bow, though she was also trained by the skald of Clan Madrigal in aural magic. This combination of skills drew her to the life of the wandering Bard, a role that she has approached with a gusto. Fearless and tireless, she is often at the forefront of battle where her Roegadyn form allows her to tower over the battlefield and direct combat. Her hot-blooded nature has often caused her companions to chastise her for rushing too eagerly into a fight, though Solveig believes this to be an asset and not a detriment.
