This is what adventurer had to say during it:
Born to a humble family in a humble village of Saint Andrew’s field, Tyr Slaybrood aspired to be a defender of what is good and right. His village was no stranger to raids from bandits. As such, he was quick to take up the Sword and Shield to defend his village. Whenever Merchants or Adventurers passed by their village, he would often talk to them and ask to tell stories of their travels. He was enamored by those tales and yearned to go on an adventure himself. Yet, at the same time, he was content with what he had in his tiny village.
As a Lalafell, not everyone took him seriously because of his small stature. But to those who know him, Tyr can carry his own weight well. At times, he would drink a Potion that would change him into a Miqo’te, one of the Wandering Tribes that arrived in Eorzea, to play tricks on those who teased him; a bit of a Trickster, such is a common trait among the Lalafell.
One afternoon, Tyr was hunting game for his family’s supper. Unbeknownst to him, this was when the war in Carteneau took place. He saw that the sky was unsually bright that afternoon despite the sun setting. He then climbed up the tallest tree he could find. There, he witness the Primal Bahamut break free from his prison and set the landscape ablaze. Mesmerized by the spectacle, he failed to notice the debris crashing down from the sky into his village. In that instant, he lost everything. Shocked beyond belief, he rushed to his humble village, only to find nothing but a fiery inferno.
Just like the other refugees, Tyr found himself entering one of the City-States. He fled to Gridania, hoping to get over the loss of his loved ones during the calamity. It was here where he first met his bride-to-be, a Lalafell named “Kitty”. Traumatized by what has transpired in his life, he swore to make himself stronger; Strong enough to fight off even a Calamity. It is during around this time he met started to know friends that would aid him in his journey.
5 years after the tragedy, Tyr decided to go to Ul’dah, to test his skills with the blade. On the way to the City-State, he heard the call of Hydaelyn in a form of a dream. He did not think of it much. Little did he know that this would play a big part in his journey to becoming a Warrior of Light.
In U’ldah, he let go of his Sword and Shield in favor of the Rod. He devoted himself to his studies as a Thaumaturge and be promoted officially to a Black Mage. Although he had attained the highest level, he struggled for mastery in this profession as he continued to weave his spells. He then took up the myriad arts that the world has to offer. A jack of all trades, but a master of none.
