Originally from Ishgard, Anione lived a nomadic life with her family and a tribe of chocobo breeders, moving from area to area with the changing of the seasons.
After a particularly destructive attack by several dragons on Ishgard, men were required to temporarily replenish the ranks of the Dragoons and many were pressed into service, including a majority from Ani’s tribe, many to never return.
Ani and several other youths of her tribe were sent to Gridania to learn more advanced archery, to better provide hunting skills to her people. Several were selected as lancers as well to replenish the ranks of the dragoons.
Shortly after her basic archery training and during more advanced stages, Hydaelyn awakened the echo ability in Ani and her life was changed forever...
