A Heroic Knight and crown prince of Royal House Mizuno of the Celestial Kingdom of Juno. House Mizuno has long been a respected royal family and for generations has kept the peace in the realm while producing heroic leaders, knights and magi that have ended terrible wars and kept the people safe.
As the eldest son of House Mizuno, he takes an active role in protecting the kingdom and its borders while eliminating dark threats. He has won many battles even when his forces were outnumbered. It was his presence on the battlefield that struck fear into the hearts of many opposing soldiers and generals which led to their surrender. He is accompanied by his best friend an Isaacian samurai Toma Tomoe and the Silver Dragon Princess Niniiel Goldharbor. He is also responsible for helping train legendary heroes such as the shield maidens Faralla Brightwing and Elandrina.
When the youngest of House Mizuno, his little brother Rouge, goes missing, he and his faithful companions (Himself, Faralla, Toma, and Niniiel) scour the realm in search of him. They are later caught up in a violent storm and attacked by a voidsent. Faralla gives her life in protection of the Prince before they are taken to Eorzea.
When arriving in Eorzea, they discover Faralla was resurrected by the light but not with all her memories (Not even her own name, so she was given the nickname "Red.") Feeling responsible for Faralla's condition, he limits his interaction with her, seeing she was given another "chance at life" and he would not rob her of that right. He keeps an eye on her from the distance but deals with hardships of his own as both his companions Toma and Niniiel do not survive the long, harsh journey.
Overcome with grief, Michael had forsaken the light of the Paladin way and walked the path of darkness. When on the verge of losing himself to the darkness, Faralla with her renewed memories comes to his aid and helps him return to the righteous path. Michael continues his path as a Dark Knight, leaving the light of the Paladin in Faralla's capable hands.
