A young and independent Viera, Jade's origins are an utter mystery to strangers. And it's a topic she doesn't discuss openly with friends outside of the Scions, so the story is left up to speculation and what outsiders can piece together by observing. But what's unquestionable is her incredible skill with a lance, which Jade proudly claims is thanks to her adoptive father.
Jade has no family of blood that she can remember. Her mother bore her as a slave and her early years were spend in the care of strangers and pitiful traders. But it didn't stop them from being split up in her infancy, and up until the age of 7 she was broken free from her cage - literally - and taken in by a human male by the name of Kaledux, his kitsune wife Elpis, and their young son Reavier of the same age as Jade. By the grace of the gods and goddesses had Jade finally found a family.
Her father's origins are an even greater mystery as Jade has never revealed much. Only that he wields incredible magic powers and most of Jade's prowess with weapons come from him. She's described him as someone who is mission-focused and an impeccable leader, who she owes her strength and very existence to. As the only magicless one in the family, Jade was trained with several weapon types, finding the lance most well-suited to her agility, with swords and chakras being her other favorites.
What people know of Jade now is a caring and strong-willed woman, who seeks a world far from the one she grew up in. Rumours have spread that she's recently reunited with her father after five years gallivanting on her own in the world of Eorzea, but Jade knows it's no time for celebration; the arrival of Kaledux means trouble for the continent, and possibly the entire world.
