Born in a small town in Abalathia's Spine, Helkon Hayon and his older brother Jotnar Hayon wanted nothing more than to be mercenaries like they childhood friends Ocher Boulder and Hoary Boulder.

Jotnar went to Ul'dah to become a black mage, unfortunately his adventure was cut short as he was poisoned by a weird morbol and he had to return home.

Wanting to find a cure for his brother, Helkon left home to study conjuring in Gridania. There he befriends Zexion Brunelli, that joins him and together they face all their quests head-on.

After becoming a white mage, Helkon eventually learns of scholars and starts studying the art of summoning faeries in hopes he can find the answers he seeks.

Throughout his adventures Helkon learns all the healing jobs, cures Setoto Seto of the Green Death, defeats the blasphemy Charlet and defeats The Endsinger. These 4 events provide him the knowledge he needs to cure Jotnar.

Together with Zexion, Helkon returns to his home where he casts Krasis, Liturgy of the Bell, Microcosmos, Expedient and Esuna at Jotnar.

The treatment is a success and Jotnar joins Zexion and Helkon on their adventures across the globe and beyond.
