He suspects the balance of power is unstable due to the lack of Red and Blue magic among the free peoples of Eorzea, and is convinced that the re-establishment of those disciplines will lead to the restoration of a lasting peace in this land. Sorel has re-united with his long-time friend and rival, Darium, also a refugee from Vana'diel and an expert in Blue magic.
