It felt weird that the premise of the show from the description did not really occur in the first episode. In fact, it did not occur till the middle of 2nd episode even. Equally as weird as the torture sessions in the beginning of the 1st episode. On the other hand, those were the norms back in the day, unfortunately, so maybe not that weird, just a bit out of place, especially since it is kind of brushed off later. Even though the purple-haired (who reminds me of Duolingo's Lily) felt annoyed with the training, it did not look like she was being tortured.
Maybe they will return to that topic in next episodes, but it does not look like a show for me either way. Strange and out-of-place breakings of 4th wall are definitely part of why. And the fact that prince has a dumb face, even though he is supposed to be extra handsome. And the fact that it took them month (unless I am mistaken) to break the news that engagement is still on. If that was the case, why was the other girl being trained even?
