I heard quite a few good things about this movie. Perhaps it made my expectations too high. It's not a bad move, but I think I will forget everything besides Cristin Milioti, who did not have that much screen time, to be honest.

The approach to timeloop is quite good, I think my only complain in that regard is Roy, since it was not properly explained why he does not come after Nyles every day. Him being too far does not make much sense. You can make some assumptions as to why, but they probably would not make mush sense, especially considering some parts of Roy and Nyles conversation closer to the end.

This is also supposed to be a romcom, but... Is it? There isn't that much humor, and a lot of it is kind... Teenage-like, but not edgy enough, as it was in some older movies. As if they were playing it safe. But it is also not really romantic, especially when Nyles reveals his "secret" (which we totally did not see coming, because how could we see something this original?).

In the end, I think them not starting from the very first iteration of the loop is the main limitation here. I get it, that it was meant to be a reason for Nyles apathy, but he was not really that apathetic even, and it could have been framed just slightly different like him getting tired of Misty (or Roy). And then introduction of Sarah in like the middle of the movie would be the catalyst for change. On the other hand, I do get it that they wanted to show a little bit of Sarah's perspective, too (which was still not enough), but then... Maybe it should have been a TV show with 1 loop being one 20 minutes episode and then have like 13 episode?

Either way, there is definitely something to enjoy here, and it's good for one evening, but take the praise that you hear with a little bit of salt.
