I think I know what Punpun could look like if it got anime adaptation: coloring as in "Totsukuni no Shoujo" (anime I mean) and transitions as in "Sonny Boy". I think this combination amd the different moods the parts can produce alone, could present Punpun quite well. Not sure how some hyper-realistic panels would be adapted though. Whether they could fit.
