Episode 2:

I like it visually (especially since the girls are cute and Sarao is definitely my type). I like the general idea, especially the "teamwork" concept they added closer to the end of the 2nd episode. But the narrative sucks so much. It's all over the place. It's inconsistent with itself.

You think just dropping in some random things (or rules) will make a good story just because no one is expecting that random thing? Wrong. Whatever you are dropping in needs to make sense in the line of the rules of the world that you have already created or, at least, prove those rules wrong, but in a consistent way.

In here, they continuously fail to be consistent in whether they know something about the world or not. One second they do not know anything, the other - they know quite a bit, because there is someone else, who knows, and that makes them know by association (this does not work in real life).

Or they find some random dude and just trust whatever he says because protected them from some kind of "glitch", without even telling them how to spot them. In real life one would doubt, that that glitch was not just trick made by this dude.

I understand that circumstances are weird here, but people will not behave like that in such situations. They will be cautious or stupid or crying or scared or whatever, but not what we see here, which I have no idea how to call even. Indifferent?

The only thing that was, indeed, good in the 2 episodes is how it turned out that Sarao was enchanted, but then they totally glossed over how Toriko broke her own enchantment.

This may not be the best comparison/example here, but I am somehow got reminded of Bleach. Think about the way Arancar and Vizard were introduced and how Batou (or whatever those vampires in anime were called) were. Arancar and Vizard made sense in the world that we knew back then, they "fit" it. Vampires - did not. They felt completely out of place (even though some fights were pretty decent).

I felt like this anime was like Batou fillers. It does not fit. At least, not in my head. And I really hoped for some steamy yuri scenes...
