Episode 2:
2nd episode felt better in narrative overall, but it has too many illogical things:
- MC does not read or write and yet, instead of first teaching him those, he is put into a class and asked to do calculus. No one would do that, because that way he will be wasting time (his, teachers', other children)
- Even if 1st place got split for 2 persons, why there is no 2nd place, but a 3rd one right after?
- Time-skip is understandable, but are you saying, that for 5 years he did not prove his merit to the bully considering the circumstances? Or that they did not have any actual confrontation? I am forced to think of this as Draco Vs Harry and it looses in all regards, including logic.
- Why would children be placed to [mock] fight adults? I do not get it.
I also think that this story is a wasted opportunity: general idea of isekai into someone else's head seems interesting, but in here this more like a way to explain why some random kid from the slums is so calm and collected, let alone strong and smart compared to his peers: he simply has memories of an older guy, but it's totally unclear how exactly he accesses them. This could be told as a deep psychological story you know.
And that is the only reason I'm giving it one more shot: I hope, that now that he's grown, there will be more meaning in those memories of a dead guy, that something will happen to this Kirito (sounds like the same actor even, BTW), that will allow for a deeper and darker story of a lonely brain.
