1st episode is total bull. The guy was stuck in a slump because of searching perfection, that would be better than previous 1 hit. The remedy is to write the music that you write without thinking whether it's perfect/better or not. But there was nothing, that would prompt him to this through pattern.
We are told to accept, that him playing the song that he is trying to "beat" got him to the proper thought pattern, but this is not something that would really work in actual psychology. He needs to understand and accept the fact, that he does not need to be perfect when doing new work, not that "playing old song is fun". I do not buy it.
After watching it, I've re-read synopsis and realized, that there is next to nothing from it in the actual episode. I then fast-forwarded 2nd episode - same thing. Why? Synopsis is interesting and could have been developed into an interesting story, why would they write it for synopsis and then not use it in actual anime?
Wakaranai.
