Some cuts were too abrupt. People were talking to each other with at least a dozen meters between them. 2 letters, one for mom and one for dad, became one. Letter given to a boy to be delivered was abandoned by him in random cart. Major was too slow.
Did it make it less emotional? Well... To be honest, TV series felt more than that. Probably because stories were not as drawn out. The movie is good, but it could be like 40 minutes shorter easily and would have more of an impact.
Or maybe I just dried out.
