I am conflicted about this show.
On one hand it definitely has very high production quality. Actors play well, camera work and shot composition is amazing and work really well, at least with cases of minimalistic aesthetics The music is good, and matches pacing, that is surprisingly faster than the movies, this show accompanies, even though they technically have much more time to slow down.
On the other hand... I doubt I will remember much if anything from this. I do not feel like it added much to Dune's lore either. Yes, there are some signs of things that will become the norm in the future, but they are not explored properly. Even the Voice, that was used quite early in the show is supposed to be very unique at the time of the events, but it gets forgotten for majority of the show except for very few moments, where it feels to be used only for the sake of driving the story forward.
I also could not relate to any of the characters, because they felt quite flat, even when they were trying to be mysterious. Made we wonder if this is a flaw of the prequel book Prophecy is based on or not. Can't answer that, since I read only original six books, but from what I was able to research the show changed quite a few things compared to the book, so this could be a factor.
Either way, if you want to see what Game of Thrones in Sci-Fi would look like - this is it. But don't expect too much of emotional rollercoasters like in GoT.
