No, does not work for me. The hate between the 2 characters does not make sense in a band even if I consider that they have no other options. Hiding passion with either instrument or with "darker" or less "lady-like" things also, especially during sports ("grace" is more about form rather than lack of intensity and power behind it). I get it, it's meant to add to humor, but it's not that funny. And that overshadows the obnoxious hair even, IMHO.
