If you thought the guy from "Rent-a-girlfriend" was creepy, this would be even worse for you. Kazuya was a bit over-the-top at times, but you could at least properly relate to him, even if you it felt uncomfortable, and anime adaptation objectively made him somehow more... Icky. This one though... It's just sad.

I get it, it's hard to talk to people for some, and it's even harder to start a meaningful relationship, especially if you are living alone for a long time. And this could be a very important topic, exploring the real-life problems that shy or socially awkward people can face. But only if there was some subtlety. Here there was none.

Right from the get-go, the guy wants the robot-girl as his wife. Right from the get-go he is aroused by her. Right from the get-go the story supports this by clearly showing signs that the robot is not just a robot. There is no build-up of any emotions. It's not like the little things the robot was doing were misinterpreted, and over-time the guy started to have feelings. Right from the start we know that the show will be about strengthening relationship between the guy and the robot girl, that will turn out to be more than just a robot girl (and probably "become the norm for society"), and not about the guy falling in love with the robot over-time, growing, and potentially getting out of his shell.

This is all to just feed the "submissive girlfriend" kink, I guess. That's probably the robot is made so cute. At least she is not opening her mouth (yet?), so there is at least some possibility for distancing yourself, if you do decide to continue watching.
