神之塔 -Tower of God- 工房戦

I am doing what I needed to do for awhile now: dropping this. I am not sure why I stuck with 2nd season through the 1st part and almost to the end of 2nd part. It is a bad show.

I remember 1st season was not that good at introducing, let alone explaining, things, but it was presented from perspective of Bam/Joru/whatever for whom everything was new, so it made at least some sense. The "competition" part, and thus games, also made sense in the narrative. But with 2nd season it almost feels... Pointless?

One of the issues is that there are just too many characters, with most of them being very shallow: you can describe them maybe in 2 sentences. They may look interesting, but bring next to nothing of value or are introduced only to be used as a special plot device some time later in the story. Which is kind of commendable, I guess, but I bet they are used that way on a whim, rather than out of planning.

The show also tries to look complex, but most of things are "just cause we said so". Or "because it is convenient" or "because it will look badass". No, it won't. FUG was used just for the sake of having another shady organization, nothing more, but there are already hints of a dozen of other shady organization all over, so... It's just a bigger one and more famous, I guess?

And what exactly will look badass? Fights are now mediocre somehow, because there is no real power system. I mean, check Bleach. It has a pretty loose power system, but it has at least some rules, and when there is some level rule bending, it is explained to some extent, at least. Most of the time. And when it's not it truly looks badass. Heck, its plot is even more coherent than Tower Of God.

I don't know how I stuck this long with it. Guess I was hoping for something good, but when Bam/Joru/whatever suddenly became all naive-eye again it just went downhill for me, because it essentially threw away all potential character development, that was hidden behind the time skip. As is it looks like an overhyped piece of media for me.
