I will continue watching this, since 1st episode is more like a prologue, but I've noticed serious issues in the physics here. It appears, that in the area. where the boy was in, it has been snowing for quite sometime. Probably the reason the rest left. And it's been several years since they left. If that's correct, then the amount of snow on those rocks and other stuff is all wrong. It's unlikely he would have found them. It also feels strange, that he did not leave immediately after the last elder has died. Unless he has been conditioned somehow.

Once again there is lack of reason behind the situation. Yes, they sacrifice children, but why? Why children? Why only virgins? Why the face paint? If not the paint, they did have several opportunities to tell March, why this is all happening and let us have better understanding of the lore. I really hope, they will address this, because it really bugs me, despite the good qualities of the show.

Need to "damage" the bear could have been easily explained to March: "I do not like what I have to do either. I am disgusted even. It is sad, that the bear has died, but if we just leave it like that, his death will have little meaning. We have a chance to show respect to it in its death by helping others." Or something along those lines. Not that it would change anything that happened after.

BTW, there was an inconsistency in March's ghost form: first she was able to hit her sis, but then she was intangible.

Where did the torch come from? Why did Gugu became red? Why did everyone forget about his potential rupture? Why did he sober up so fast (and returned t normal color) on his way back, as if it was nothing?

Also adult Gugu somehow feels weird. I am not sure normal human would get such "form". I do not think even bodybuilders look as square as that.

And I am not sure about Fushi "growing up". It feels as if some rule is not being mentioned to allow this fact to fit what's been going on so far.

I'm not sure I understand. They lied to Rean (which I find cruel), but in the end she seemed to understand, that Gugu is dead and that she saw Fushi. Did she know? Did she understand from Fushi's slip up? Did the geezer explain it to her somehow? Without any hints on "how", the ending has a lesser impact, IMHO.

I think there are some loopholes (or just mistakes) in the narrative this episode:

1. Hayase seems to have come to the island with a small army and no one noticed it. I do not buy that. People would notice this and make a fuss, probably even try to get them off the island even.
2. She also seemed to have an entire "church" or what were those things in her possession. How? Why? Did no one notice that as well? Was no one curious about this? Tonari, at least, would be curious, won't she?
3. Fushi conveniently discovered a new power. Too conveniently, considering he was unconscious.

Also, did Tonari's forehead become bigger?
