Meh. The 3 backstories shown definitely could have been more detailed (probably full episode each) and properly showing the characters sliding into depression. I find it a lost opportunity. Personally, I would have started the story a bit after they formed a party and in each episode introduced someone from each character's past to tell how they got into that party. I am sure that they will still meet their "betrayers" at some point (some frames looked like foreshadowing to me), but due to how "light and bright" the backstories were in the 1st episode, the impact will not be as great.
Or maybe I am in mood for grittier story, dunno.
