Technically, this may be considered procrastination, but I thought, that it could be nice to give some background on the series and on the pieces I already translated. So... I will start with the general background of the story\idea.

You know how it's pretty common for young boys to fantasize about a girl they like? How it's common to imagine she is in danger and you swoop in to rescue her and then it's all flowers and angels with her? Well, I was no exception.

I had similar fantasies about a lot of girls I liked, but fantasy about one of them, a girl from my school, one grade below, somehow started turning into something more.

It was a fantasy, when on my birthday I am waiting for some miracle to happen to me to change my life. Instead of a miracle I see a girl I like taking a walk with guy, who gives me a really bad vibe. And I decide to stalk them. Yeah, yeah, the creep I am, let's move on. Somehow I am near the door to her apartment and am listening in to what is going on behind the door. I hear sounds of struggle, barge in and save her from the creep (not me, the other one), who slices my hand with a poisoned knife and then dematerializes. Girl is grateful, we have mad sex and I get superpowers from that poison.

And that was it. I wrote it down (no copy survived) and it was like a solid chapter in a book.

Later on delusion, that something magical will ever happen on my birthday died and I found this chapter again and re-read it. I understood, that it was too cliche, but still could become something more and thus I re-imagined it and in the end this version was born (in Russian).

I even started writing the second book (also in Russian), but soon hit the wall. To find a way to overcome it I re-read original dozens of time and... Found that it was boring. No, it was not bad (I actually had a few fans even), but it bored me. I understood, that it could be more. Then there was a comment that pronounced a thought, that I could write something more Stephen King like rather than "fantasy" or "fairy tale" I got. Comment was based on some short stories I've written at the time (in Russian), which had a bit of psychological taste to them. Thus I decided to re-write the story again, shifting accents and making it darker and I got it up to this (sorry, also in Russian, and even incomplete).

But soon I again hit the wall which also coincided with some other personal stuff, including my mom's death and prick of a father. And so since June 2009 and till like mid-summer 2014 I barely touched it. I mean I re-read it, made some minor edits, even started writing new chapter, but something was wrong.

No, I was not bored with it. It was lacking structure, lore, motivation, some portions were just bad. I saw a lot of, if not all, the flaws in it. I understood, that I can do better, that there are ways to make it better. But what I was lacking most were visuals and dynamics. That is why I came to a realization, that this needs to be a game: a medium based on graphics with ability to tell the man story, while leaving all extra lore stuff to optional side-quests, side-activities and collectibles.

It was obvious, that this is a dream. It's next to impossible to achieve it. But I have to try. I shared the idea, got some input, some criticism and some encouragement. What I was lacking still was the content. Or rather the content for wider audience. So I decided to re-write it once again, fixing all the flaws I know about and know how to fix while translating it into English.

Somehow instead of renovation of older material new pieces emerged, and from original book, only 1st chapter was re-written so far, but it's a start, right?
