I did not have much expectations for this, but it turned out pretty good. For the most part my main issue was some inconsistency in level of the tech, but they did kind of explain it in the end. I would probably be able to nitpick here and there still, but it would be mostly at the general concept, and it would be minor issues with the lore of the whole franchise, rather than this anime in particular.
It looks good, it sounds good. The story is interesting, some twists are somewhat predictable, but they are still delivered professionally. Final couple of twists are... Flaky, but again this flakiness is mostly related to the lore, and they do not retract anything from the general atmosphere and feel of the show. I even think it was a bit more philosophical compared to other entries in the franchise, which is also good.
A separate mention for time concept mentioned in the anime: I like it. Have not seen it before. It's usually "it's not a river, it's a lake" kind of thing, and here the idea is that time kind of folds or just turns back and then start going forward again at a new place. I find this quite elegant, because I think it kind of works around the paradoxes, too, at least to an extent.
