Such a waste of time...
This had a chance to properly expand on relatively complex history of Re:Zero universe, and, technically, it kind of it, but it did not add anything of value. I would say most if not all of the new characters are just too flat and static, and even Wilhelm himself is practically nothing but angst for most of the time. Angst which does not seem to have much of a reason behind it, unless I missed something.
Original story (at least anime and manga adaptations) had all of this pretty much covered with that 1 episode/chapter. This one is the same thing but padded by pointless generic dialogue and unexciting fights of edge-lords. What was the point of this besides money, I wonder?
