2nd episode was definitely better than 1st one. It felt even more dynamic, there was more humor, that kind of fit the context. It will, probably, still turn out to be brain-dead in the end, but it does look like nice entertainment. We definitely need even more Aki, because there just can't be too much of her. And maybe there being more of her is another reason why 2nd episode felt better.
Fun fact: in Russian there is an idiom "руки из жопы", which would be closest to English "butterfingers", but literally means "arms from ass". They obviously could not do that in the anime, but putting arms on Aki's thighs is really close to that Russian idiom, if taken literally. Not like adepts of thighdeology would complain.
