I am not sure why I even tried this. I know "Rings o Power" were bad, I did not really like the art-style from the get-go, but.... LOTR did influence me a lot, so I guess I had to suffer. I could not suffer more than like 20 minutes, though.
This was just boring. I did not care for anything that was happening. Did not care for the character, did not care for the views even (mostly because the art often had mismatching elements). It felt like they were going for some vikings' vibe with everything. Attempt to be Vinland Saga?
Not only Vinland Saga is a completely different beast than LOTR, it definitely had better character (and world) introductions. They were believable and relatable. These ones - nah. The girl is "special one" from the start even. Everything is presented as "special", and since the War of the Ring is mentioned in the very beginning - it's clearly aimed at the fans. Kind of "fan service".
Not sure fans appreciated this. Makes sense, though, since turned out this was just for the sake of keeping a license, and not for the sake of doing something good with it. "Let no one else have it" was the mindset, I bet.
