This felt very sluggish. I mean, the girl is kidnapped, right? And allegedly both sides of some conflict (humans and wizards) are in a hurry, because people are dying and what not. Yet they take a very long time talking, as if they have all the time in the world. Even if we assume that "humans" are not in a hurry in general, but have a time limit "before wizards arrive", would they not just move the girl somewhere right away? But even then, what would stop the wizards from taking her back later, if they are so "bad"? What is even "special" about her? They never told her, and just somehow convinced her to believe that by "sincerity". But, maybe she was just bored, and wanted some action to finally start. You can literally see how one of her yes was struggling not to close during one of conversations.
