Based on first 3 episodes, this seems a tad better than 1st season. At least the pacing is more stable. There are more hints on a bigger threat now, too, although at the same time it felt like that island thing from 1st season was kind of forgotten. The guy put it correctly: it's starting to feel too one-sided. What kept me through 1st season was the fact that fighting for him was a challenge, even when he became grew stronger. Now... Not so much. It still can look cool, but if that's all, it can become boring after some time, if it's not supported by good plot. There are hints of good plot, but it's still a bit all over the place. Let's see how it continues, though.

Episode 5:

I remember I read somewhere, that if a person seems to smell nice for you, when bot using any pefume, it means that you are chemically compatible, whatever that means.

Episode 13:

From what I understand 3rd season has not be confirmed, and I share sentiment of some people, that it would be better to not happen. Yes, the show probably brings some money, but does it make it worth it still? 2nd season is better than 1st one, it has better dynamics with less dips in narrative, and when the deeps did happen, they were not as "deep". It was more "leveled", I guess. There was a lot of praise for the 2nd season, too, but... I disagree with it.

The story still sucks, and the fights became worse compared to 1st season. The guy's motivation was ok, it was quite logical, that he wanted to help his mother, and nothing more. This is true for both seasons. But in 2nd season this "I do not want to get involved" thing, once people learnt about his power felt... Unauthentic. He did not show any signs of being self-centered, his main motivation for getting stronger was not for himself in the first place, so why would he not get involved?

2nd season breaks things further, because now he wants to make a guild. Do the thing, that he was not really interested in before. It's just completely random. If there was some explanation for that from his own mouth (or thoughts) - then fine, but as is it's just a very cheap way to force continuation of the story. Especially, considering that the fights lost their weight almost entirely now. They can still look cool, yes, but there is no sense of danger at all, and that sense of danger was what made me stay through-out the 1st season no matter how conflicted I felt about overall narrative.

So, no, there is really no reason to continue the story at this point. And from what I read quite a few people say that the story does get significantly worse after the ants arc (although allegedly still has some good parts). There is no motivation and no danger for the main protagonist after all. If they switch to a different character as being the main focus... Like to that blond girl... Then maybe it can be a good idea, but from what I understand the original source does not do that, and I doubt anyone would risk to switching the perspective.

Of course, if 3rd season will happen, I will, probably, give it a try, but I am definitely not waiting for it.
