CG are quite good (most of the times, at least), music is good as well. But, if I am being honest, it's the only thing that's good here.

Don't get me wrong, if you want a b-movie with high budget, you may enjoy it. If you like kiddy movies, that have less plot than some of the cartoons even - you may enjoy it as well. But if you are spoiled by high(er) quality stories... Well, you may consider this movie running in background of you doing some mundane tasks.

The "lore" is presented extremely badly. It's not about the fact, that it's split across the whole movie - that's acceptable, but the way it's delivered is simply bad, especially the very beginning of the movie. I think old game Sudeki had similar beginning, but even that was more... Detailed, I guess.

The characters look interesting, but they have zero depth, and mostly are tropes, which is not a bad thing in general, but here it does not work because of the acting. It's too stuck up. It's like actors consider this a serious film and try to "feel" the characters, when those characters have nothing to them besides the looks. This acting make the characters look out of place. And if you consider how badly the dialogues are written... For some this may become unwatchable quite soon.

The plot itself is... Well, it's cliched. Just a regular coming-of-age story. But with a guy, who is clearly already of age. Like 5 years, at least. He is infantile and there is no explanation for that. As there is none for quite a few things, really: a lot of details and episodes are there just for the sake of being there. It's as if creators wanted to everything and in one place, no matter how functional that will be. Guess they did not know, that most chimeras and mutants die quite fast. Or maybe they did and that's why they made the movie high-paced even in places, where they should not have.

And I think this is the main problem: it is rushed. The story may be a cliche, the characters may be tropes, but if you have good pacing, which allows you to connect with them - they can be enjoyable.

They should have gone for a TV series instead a film. Like 10 to 12 episodes, 1 hour each. That would allow them to properly explore the world and its rules, build up characters and make them more believable, if not relatable. Sadly Russian TV series are more dead than our movies with clones of US sitcoms and or those about brave Russian policemen. If only they made this a TV series instead...

Otherwise, I'd give 5/10 at best.
