Today is 1 month anniversary of my stay in Helsinki.\nLast weekend I've furnished up my new apartment, you can check it here.

I can say it with confidence: having savings helps a LOT. Coming from Moscow, where renting apartment without furniture is extremely rare, I never appreciated how expensive it is to fill it up from scratch. And when you do not have enough money your options are even more limited and if you select poorly, you can waste even more.

Assembling all of this was tedious and now I understand why IKEA has somewhat contradictory reputation: when dealing with some things I thought that they were made by a genius, but then the next minute I could have something that was created by an idiot. Or at least someone who did not think about actual assembly, only transport.

I also now appreciate having sharp knives, since recently had experience of trying to make onion slices with blunt ones and... That was a health hazard, at least. Similar appreciation for a proper pillow: Forenom's was not that bad, but it was too soft. The one I got is not too fancy, but it provides better support and it definitely reduced neck pain.

On the unrelated topic of food: I've walked down a memory lane by buying some "powder soups". You know the ones you make in a cup. Long ago, when me and my mom stayed at dacha for long periods we had those for rainy evenings. Almost like normal people have cocoa in the same situation.

There is one negative experience so far: Samsung. My phone decided to degrade even more and now it's not recognized by "smart" electronics and because of that won't charge through them. Both laptops I have can't recognize it and even the same is true for router. So have to power it directly from the grid. Furthermore it decided that now it will have proper internet connection on WiFi ONLY with IPv6 enabled on router side, and even then it will be able to only download. Well, it can upload, but like several bytes per second. I am now seriously considering replacement and currently thinking of either ASUS Zenfone 8 (not Flip) or Sony Xperia 5 III (which is a tad more expensive, than I'd want).
