Something feels off about this one. I can't put my finger on it, but I think it's something about the tech, like something is missing from the exposition. But not only that, the approach to narrative is also of the "a lot of things seem to be happening at once", and I am not sure it works that well here. Yes, the story so far suggests some background behind characters, their relationships and the world in general, but it leaves me feeling, as if I need to know all of this already, which is, clearly, not the case.

I am giving this a chance, but do not have much hope, to be honest. Brain Dive felt kind of flat, although it could be fun as in "ID:INVADED". Instead it was very straight-forward, and thus it's not really the attraction here. But what is? Blond androids?

Dropping this. 2 main reasons:

  1. There is a mention of trauma the girl had, and the robot helped her overcome it, but it's just mentioned in passing and in such a way that suggests that they will not delve into it, but it's clear extremely important. So if this is based on 2nd novel, instead of 1st, I would assume that 1st novel handled this and it feels strange that i's being ignored for no apparent reason.
  2. The android was called "black box". It does not make sense, because if you build the bloody thing - you know how it makes decisions. You can't not know. This does not make sense.
