This is what they needed to revive, instead of X-Men.

I may be a bit biased, considering how much the show impacted me in my childhood, but this show is just better than original X-Menon most, if not all accounts. I think the only thing where it may lose (to an extent) is social issues, specifically inclusivity, slavery, maybe politics in general. But aside from that... Boy, was it good.

The fact that the focus was 1 character (for the most part) helped a lot, for sure. X-Men was spreading itself too thin sometimes, and quite a few characters felt somewhat underdeveloped even by the end of the show. Spider-Man was not perfect, but he felt more "down to Earth" and relatable. Although, that was, practically, the reason why the character became popular in the first place.

I can nitpick on the way Peter's anger was portrayed, since it was cartoonish, the way love plots were all over the place, and it felt like everyone was trying to date everyone, and there were some weird inconsistencies between some episodes, that felt like time skips... But overall the structure of the story told through-out was great. Aside from spider-sense being inconsistent (which is true in the comics, as well), and possibly the 5th season, which felt a bit more rushed. And those Ben Grimm's eyes...

Look into these eyes

The show definitely could use a bit of a slow down, similar to what new X-Men had, but not so much to tell better story, as rather make the existing story feel "heavier". My childhood eyes sees Venom episodes a bit more dramatic and nightmarish, but when I rewatched, it did not feel as impactful. Still really good, though. If a revival is done, the new show should make it feel things a bit more personal.

On the other hand, the way 5th season ended... It would become more like Sliders, which could be good, and could get tied in with What If show, too, but it would be difficult to tell an overarching story, for sure. What they sure should keep though is soundtrack, especially the opening, since it was and still is a banger.
