I could not get past like 5 minutes. Maybe it's because I just watched Ratatouille, which was good and had at least somewhat similar message of "anyone can be great", and it brought the plank of quality relatively high. Thelma just did not inspire me at all. 5 minute may not sound a lot, but the beginning, the way characters and/or the world are introduced is very important for a good story. Here introduction felt extremely cheap, flat, generic, predictable, uninteresting.

"Just another show about a supposed underdog with big dreams, that then achieves some level of success through a lie" I thought. And it's not like this premise is not interesting: it can be, and it can deliver important message(s), too, teach kids something useful even. "Ratatouille" does. But compare 5 minutes of rats being introduced and 5 minutes of ponies...

And it's not like ponies look bad. Animation and models look ok. But it feels like the movie is playing safe right from the get go. Biases are pushed on thing by force. The story itself is forced. I mean what's that "you do not have it"? Do talent agents really say that, when they are supposed to listen to music? I mean, looks are important in the business still, but if they are looking for musicians, they need to listen first no?

So, yeah, 5 minutes was more than enough for me. This movie failed to achieve even 15 minutes of fame with me.
